1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Dr. MycoTek (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. The Service is operated by Nature Lion Inc., a Canadian corporation. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Dr. MycoTek is an AI-powered mycology education tool. It provides information about mushroom identification, cultivation, contamination diagnosis, and foraging. The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate responses based on mycological knowledge databases.

3. Critical Safety Disclaimer

Dr. MycoTek is an educational tool ONLY. It is NOT a substitute for expert identification.

Never eat a wild mushroom based solely on information provided by this Service.
Always confirm identifications with a qualified mycologist, local mushroom club, or authoritative field guide before consuming any wild mushroom.
AI identification is not definitive. Our AI can make errors. Misidentification of wild mushrooms can result in serious illness or death.
When in doubt, leave it. No mushroom meal is worth the risk of poisoning.

Nature Lion Inc. accepts no liability for illness, injury, or death resulting from the consumption of wild mushrooms identified using this Service. Users assume all risks associated with foraging and consuming wild mushrooms.

4. User Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service.
One account per person. Sharing accounts is not permitted.
Dr. MycoTek may require a one-time inbox verification link before checkout or before granting email-based Nature Lion customer or staff benefits. Changing your account email requires verification of the new inbox for those actions.

5. Subscription Plans

Prices are in Canadian dollars and tax is added at checkout. The Service offers:

Free: $0 with 5 AI minutes per calendar month.
Pro: $2.99 monthly or $24.99 annually, with 50 AI minutes each month.
Platinum: $17.99 monthly or $99 annually, with unlimited normal human in-app AI use, private records, saved spots, offline maps, advanced exports, and an enhanced profile. Read-only API access is coming soon and is not currently available.

Every tier uses the same best available AI model and answer-quality settings; only allowance differs. Paid plans auto-renew through Stripe until cancelled. You may cancel at any time and retain access through the paid period. Upgrades apply immediately with proration; downgrades apply at period end. Annual plans still receive monthly AI allowances. Failed payments have a seven-day grace period. There are no trials, promotional discounts, AI top-ups, money-back guarantees, prorated refunds, or refunds for unused time.

Platinum privacy lifecycle: When Platinum access actually ends, private observations and grow journals lock. Unless Platinum is restored, those records automatically become public after 120 days without further consent. Warnings are scheduled at access end, day 90, and day 113. During the window, locked records cannot be individually viewed, edited, deleted, or manually published. Full account deletion remains available. Saved spots remain private and stored but inaccessible indefinitely and are never auto-published.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our AI models or knowledge base.
Submit harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content.
Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions.
Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service's responses without permission.
Upload images that violate others' privacy or intellectual property rights.

7. Intellectual Property

The Dr. MycoTek name, logo, design, and underlying technology are the property of Nature Lion Inc. Some species photographs are sourced from Mushroom Observer, Wikimedia Commons, and Pexels under their respective Creative Commons or free-use licenses, with attribution maintained in our records. AI-generated responses are provided for your personal educational use.

8. Health and Medical Disclaimer

The Service does not provide medical advice. Information about mushroom edibility, toxicity, or traditional uses is for educational purposes only. If you suspect mushroom poisoning, contact your local poison control centre or emergency services immediately. In Canada, call 1-800-222-1222 (Poison Control) or 911.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Nature Lion Inc. shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages arising from mushroom identification errors, cultivation advice, or foraging recommendations.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email.
